Every piece of Hard Rock memorabilia has a story. So does the man who procures it. His name is Don Bernstine and his job is simple. Fly around the world, hang out with musicians and bring back kick ass memorabilia for Hard Rock to put on display in every cafe, hotel and casino all across the globe.
"We kicked off the Ambassadors of Rock World Tour weekend with a private party Friday night at the Hard Rock Cafe London. The party was cool. Jimmy Page turned up and hung for a while. Saturday morning came way too, but Roger Waters' management had asked me to come over in the morning while he did his sound check. Afterwards, he signed a custom Gibson Les Paul made specifically for the AOR tour. It was really cool to meet him and I got treated to a preview of the show that night. The last time I was in Hyde Park for a show it was for Live 8 and I saw Paul McCartney and U2 rehearse. On Sunday I got to hang out with Pete and Roger of The Who! Pete and his girlfriend Rachel host a pre-concert webcast from "The Attic" backstage at each show and I was invited to be on the webcast with them. We talked about the history Pete has with Hard Rock and a ton of other things. After the webcast, they both signed another Gibson AOR guitar. For those of you that haven't seen The Who, I would check this tour out. The show is amazing. Pete's brother Simon donated a guitar to the collection that he used on the Quadrophenia tour along with the stage clothes he wore at Hyde Park. Hope you guys like the photos. I'm off to Chicago next to hang out with Dave Navarro's new band Panic Channel!"
